Pond Filters and associated equipment generally fall into some broad categories
Pressure filters are compact and easy to install and come with or without integrated UV Clarifier. As these units are pressurised they can be buried in the ground beside your pond therefore not detracting from the look of your garden. We stock quality brand pressure filters including Pondmax, PondOne and Oase.
Gravity filters, also known as box filters, must be placed at the highest point in the pond system (above the pond water line or at the top of a water fall whichever is higher). Gravity filters come with or without integrated UV Clarifiers
In pond filters are ideal for very small ponds and water features or where access for installation of an external filter is limited such as above ground ponds surrounded by paving. Some units attach to existing pumps while others are all in one units which include pump, filter, and UV Clarifier
Pond skimmers effectively remove surface pond pollutants such as leaves and excess fish food from the water surface. Both stand skimmers and floating skimmers with inbuilt pump are available. Skimmers may also be used for pond aeration, providing valuable oxygen deep below the water surface for improved pond and fish health.
Stand alone UV clarifier units can be added to existing pond systems to control suspended algae in pond water. UV clarifiers should be used in conjunction with a pond filtration system. Ultra Violet radiation kills suspended algae, allowing for collection by the pond filter.
